Tara has been a lifelong student of nutrition and wellness, starting in the 80’s as a young learner applying dietary principles for weight management. It was then that food groups became relevant and would kickoff decades of learning, through yo-yo dieting, adjusting to the destructive dietary fads of the times, like the fat free craze, artificial sweeteners, the food pyramid, and more. In the early 2000s, Tara took her health approach to a whole new level, experimenting with Veganism and the Vegetarian lifestyle that included practices like food combining, and learning about alternative foods and substitutions. Through the years though, there is one thing that stuck out. No matter how much of a healthy diet followed, or a physical fitness routine was followed, it did not guarantee overall wellness and good health. In the 2010s things finally started to make sense that the QUALITY of our food mattered. There is a good reason why obesity and chronic disease skyrocketed since the 80s. We witnessed terrible dietary advice, the cheapening and destruction of good quality food sources, and a propaganda campaign from the food industry that was mistaken to be trustworthy. To add insult to injury, we had a rise of the dependence on pharmaceutical drugs, from excessive vaccination to dependence of pills to replace common sense health advice. The pending birth of her daughter caused a renewed fiery passion for good health, to raise a child giving her the best possible life she could have. In 2017, Tara became a Health and Wellness Coach, and completed the Master certification in 2018. Shortly after achieving certification, Tara fell into a season of chronic stress, with what seemed like a never ending assault on mental health. It was during this time that the focus turned from dietary and physical wellness to mental, spiritual, and emotional health. In 2024, Be Well Healthy Living was born, to share the wisdom gained through the years on the journey to wellness. Bringing balance into ALL areas of life is priority, where the 8 Elements of Health is part of the guiding philosophy, which utilizes a multifaceted approach to wellness.
